Lil' White Boots Slows His Roll On Filling Rubio

The nomination of Marco Rubio to the Secretary of State position opens up his senate seat, so there's lots of speculation about whom DeSantis would pick and how involved Trumpy Bear will be in the process. Via NBC News:

Roughly two weeks after the Rubio announcement, however, DeSantis’ team is still working through its options and does not plan to show its hand for at least a month, according to five people familiar with the process. “The governor will be conducting a thorough vetting process and interview process in December that will involve several candidates,” a DeSantis adviser told NBC News. “He’s not in a hurry to make an important decision.”

The governor has said he plans to make his selection by the beginning of January. In the immediate aftermath of the Rubio pick, two schools of thought emerged: DeSantis could appoint a placeholder who would serve until the terms ends and then run for the Senate himself in 2026 ahead of a likely 2028 presidential bid, or pick someone to serve in the seat for the long term.

Hospital Funding Threatened By Greg Abbott Over Doc's TikTok

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has threatened a children’s hospital with “consequences” after a doctor posted a viral TikTok telling patients they’re not legally obligated to tell a hospital their citizenship status. Via the Independent:

On November 1, a new executive order went into effect requiring Texas hospitals that accept Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Plan to ask patients if they’re US citizens. The question now appears on intake forms at hospitals across the state, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Dr. Tony Pastor, a cardiologist at Texas Children’s Hospital and assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, went on to post a TikTok on November 11 telling patients they’re not obligated to answer the question. The video went viral, garnering more than one million views.

“Hey Texas Children’s Hospital & Baylor College of Medicine this doctor is putting your Medicaid & Medicare funding at risk,” Abbott wrote on X, sharing a link to an Express-News article that reports on Pastor’s video.

It’s not exactly a secret that Apple has explored the possibility of building a television. Fox News Pundit: Matt Gaetz 'Unqualified To Be Your Babysitter'

Fox News pundits Ben Domenech and Leslie Marshall agreed that former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was unqualified to be a babysitter or drive teenage girls in an Uber because he had been accused of having sex with a 17-year-old girl.

During a Sunday panel discussion on Fox News, Domenech agreed with Gaetz's decision to withdraw as President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general.

"Matt Gaetz is someone who is not just unqualified for this job," he told Fox News host Howard Kurtz. "He's unqualified to do any job."

"This is a man who has proven himself time and again to be someone who is not qualified to do these things in any trustworthy manner because of the past actions that he's done repeatedly and boasted about on the House floor to other members," he continued. "That's why it was a mistake for Donald Trump to name him."

Marshall, a Democratic strategist, agreed.

"I hear 17-year-old girl, I mean this is disgusting, Democrat or Republican, we should have more of a moral compass than this in our nation," Marshall said.

"I think about my daughters, and I think about just the fact that when it comes to Matt Gaetz, I would not trust this person to do anything in terms of babysitting my daughters, taking care of them, in terms of your situation," Domenech opined. "Would you trust him to take her to the movies?"

"I would not trust him to drive her in an Uber, which might be his next job," Marshall added.

MAGA Apologist Tries To 'Both Sides' Hegseth Sexual Assault With Russian Disinfo On Biden

This has to be one of the more pathetic attempts to pretend to "both sides" the sexual assault accusations against Hegseth and Trump that I've seen in quite a while.

I'm not sure why CNN thought they were doing their viewers any sort of favor by bringing on Trump apologist Tricia McLaughlin for this segment, and they really do need to get their act together with who is invited on as a guest.

Trump employees who are willing to lie for him as part of their job, or in the hope of future employment do nothing but misinform the public.

Sadly, that was once again the case during the segment above. Here's the back and forth where Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky had to remind McLaughlin about why Hegseth isn't qualified for the job Secretary of Defense, along with the fact that the accusations of rape or sexual assault aren't his only problem:

ROGINSKY: Pete Hegseth has many problems in addition to what you just said. Pete Hegseth, when he was at Princeton, published an article that said that women who are raped while they're passed out, actually, that's not really rape, because if they can't consent, if they're not aware of what's happening to them, that's not rape.

Rachel Maddow Takes $5 Million Pay Cut From MSNBC

Maddow is taking a $5 million pay cut amid growing uncertainty about MSNBC's future, The Ankler reported yesterday. Via the Daily Beast:

Maddow, who currently makes $30 million a year at the network, renegotiated for $25 million a year for the next five years.

“This is a difficult time and they needed to keep her. No one else can do what she does. You can’t build a brand like it overnight,” one executive told The Ankler.

Comcast, the owner of NBCUniversal, plans to spin off several NBC channels— like MSNBC and CNBC— into its own company. NBCUniversal Chairman Mark Lazarus is currently heading the effort, expected to be completed by the end of 2025, called SpinCo.

The channel is currently at a crossroads following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory. According to Nielsen data, ratings dipped to 40 percent less than they were this time last year— though execs are counting on viewers to come back the way they did in 2016 once Trump’s administration gets underway.

But wait! They don't know how to cover the news anymore! What to do?

“We were so Harris propaganda that when she lost, viewers were shocked,” one on-air pundit said. “It turned into one giant circle j--k and echo chamber. If MSNBC wants to be of service to its viewers, they can’t keep them in fantasy land.”

Uh Oh! Mediaite Has Pete Hegseth's Rapey Police Report

Mediaite obtained full police report of the 2017 rape charges brought about by an Jane Doe she leveled against one of Trump's insane cabinet selections.

The alleged rape occurred in Monterey, California, and took place at a Republican women's conference.

No formal charges went through after the two parties worked out a settlement. However, if you read this account, it's damning all on its own.

According to the report, the police were first made aware of the alleged assault when Doe, who was 30 at the time, submitted for a rape-kit exam at a local hospital. A nurse from the hospital called an officer at the Monterey Police Department and reported the assault claim. Days later, police spoke with Doe as part of their investigation.

Doe said she spoke with Hegseth on the final night of the conference, during which attendees were drinking in a suite and at a bar in the hotel. Doe told police that Hegseth was flirting with women and putting his hand on their legs at the conference, and this prompted her to tell Hegseth she did not appreciate how he treated women.

This rape allegedly took place not at the Democratic Ladies of the Socialist, Marxist, gender-swapping, anti-American, liberal coalition, but for Republicans. ( I made them up) A person with his TV visibility might think he was safe from recrimination at this conference.

Disgraced Michael Flynn Would Accept A Position With Tulsi Gabbard

Pardoned felon Michael Flynn said he would work in the Trump administration if Tulsi Gabbard asked him to.

Flynn spent his time with his evangelical extreme religious right group called ReAwaken America, spouting crap like Christianity should be at the center of American life and institutions.

Frontline reports,"The tour serves as a traveling roadshow and recruiting tool for an ascendant Christian nationalist movement that’s wrapped itself in God, patriotism and politics and has grown in power and influence inside the Republican Party."

Flynn joined Steven the traitor Bannon on his sedition podcast.

BANNON: Would you be open to be her deputy or some sort of special assistant, at least for the first year, to make sure that she goes through the wilderness of mirrors?

FLYNN: Yeah, because part of, you know, so the answer is yes, but the part of this too, and this is what I told Vivek, okay, just briefly, that these people, government, they know how to hide, right?

Flynn then launched into a bizarre description of those working in the intelligence agencies.

Bartiromo Chokes As Guest Calls Gaetz 'Brilliant Legal Mind'

Friday on Mornings with Maria, Congressman Ralph Norman engaged in the most ridiculous description and promotion anyone has ever uttered on Matt Gaetz's behalf.

It was so strikingly bad that even MAGA Queen Maria Bartiromo had trouble swallowing it.

Bartiromo sounded very down when she asked if Gaetz "can actually get confirmed, or is it not? He's not getting confirmed, and everybody knows that."

"Look, Matt Gaetz is a brilliant legal mind," fawned Rep. Norman. "Matt Gaetz will, he will be the left-winging socialist's worst enemy when he, I think he will get confirmed."

The US Attorney General is not supposed to play political games or attack the left, but we are dealing with Norman.

Rep. Norman is the only person on the planet to claim Gaetz has a brilliant mind.

The WSJ writes that Gaetz's nomination is already doomed and from twelve to thirty Republican Senators are already a no.

That didn't stop Norman from slobbering all over Matt.

NORMAN: Matt can handle himself. He has nothing to hide.

The DOJ dismissed all the charges. The political witch hunt, and Matt knows this, the political witch hunt on the ethics reports have been done by House members, and we know who pushed that against him.

He pushed back, DOJ dismissed it, and so, but he has nothing to hide.

Tuberville Abdicates Position: Threatens GOP Senators For Matt Gaetz

The nomination process limits the power of the presidency, but MAGA wants a fascist dictator.

HOST: Matt Gaetz gets the votes in the Senate?

TUBERVILLE: I don't know. You're finding all the swamp creatures coming out right now.

Everybody's got an opinion up here, but at the end of the day, President Trump was elected by an enormous vote, and he deserves a team around him that he wants.

It's not us to determine that.

It is YOU, US Senators, who advise and consent to Trump's nominations.

How stupid is this man?

Within the US Constitution, we have a nomination process for cabinet positions. I'll even use the Heritage Foundation for lamebrain Tommy, so he may better understand his actual fucking job.

The appointments clause of the Constitution specifies that the president shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law.

Tuberville had no problem unilaterally blocking President Biden's appointees, which disrupted the military, and Biden won by an actual landslide.

Tuberville continued with his nonsense.

Russian State TV Celebrates Trump's Win By Showing Melania's Nudes

Speculation is that this is Putin's way of sending Trump a message in a way that Trump would understand. Putin has not called to congratulate Trump. As Julia Davis notes, "Meanwhile in Russia: this is how the most watched state TV channel in the country welcomed Melania Trump's upcoming return to the White House."

Not exactly subtle these Russians. And Putin was right. Trump called Putin today.

Source: Newsweek

A Russian state television network congratulated Melania Trump on her husband's reelection as president of the United States by showing nude photographs of her on live television, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On the show 60 minutes, Russian television presenters, husband and wife Yevgeny Popov and Olga Skabeyeva, spoke about Donald Trump's reelection and showed numerous photos from Melania Trump's modeling days on screen, including nude photographs from a GQ profile in 2000.

Julia Davis, founder of the Russia Media Monitor watchdog group, posted video of the broadcast alongside the caption: "Meanwhile in Russia: this is how the most watched state TV channel in the country welcomed Melania Trump's upcoming return to the White House. Olga Skabeeva is trying not to laugh. This was probably her idea."

Vivek Ramaswamy Tells DREAMers To Pound Sand On Mass Deportations

The cruelty is the point with these disgusting excuses for human beings. Maybe they can do something about illegal immigrant Elon while they're at it. The incompetent first Trump administration got their rear ends handed to them during their last attempt to deport all of the DREAMers who were living in the United States under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, otherwise known as DACA.

Now they're ready to do it again with Trump's plans for mass deportations, that would destroy the United States' economy.

Trump supporter Vivek Ramaswamy, who could end up with a job in the Trump administration, made an appearance on ABC's This Week, and was asked about whether Trump would actually follow through with his threat or not, and when host Jonathan Karl brought up the DREAMers, who were brought here as children, Ramaswamy basically told them all to pound sand.

KARL: Now, obviously, Trump's promised --and you've talked a lot about this, the -- you know, mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.

Trump's New Immigration Czar Tom Homan Will Go Hog Wild

The first Fox News contributor tapped to be part of the Trump administration is former acting director of ICE, Tom Homan.

This is the first of possibly many right-wing media operatives being put into key positions in the federal government under Donald Trump.

During a 60 Minutes interview aired on October 27th, 2024, Homan was asked about the astronomical coasts of carrying out Trump's plans and how families could be torn apart. Homan's answer sums up the Trump administration and its xenophobic policies perfectly.

HOST: We have seen one estimate that says it would cost $88 billion to deport a million people a year.

HOMAN: I don't know if that's accurate or not.

HOST: Is that what American taxpayers should expect?

HOMAN: What price do you put on national security? Is that worth it?

HOST: Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?

HOMAN: Of course there is. Families can be deported together.

These deportations are going to be a huge sh*t show. We remember the suffering children separated from their families under Homan's preview.

The scum-sucking pea-head Stephen Miller must have an orgasm after watching Homan's response.

'He Committed A Bunch Of Crimes': Dem Rips Fox News Pundit For Whining Over Trump Cases

Fox News pundits battled Sunday over whether prosecutions of Donald Trump's alleged crimes should continue after he won the 2024 election.

During a Fox News Sunday panel discussion, Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway dismissed Democrats who are concerned about the cases against Trump "going away" after his presidential election.

"The abuse of law was one of these underrated issues that motivated a lot of people to vote for Donald Trump," Hemingway claimed. "Having Democrat prosecutors up and down the eastern seaboard trying to imprison their political opponent, bankrupt their political opponent, remove him from the ballot."

"And he committed a bunch of crimes, Mollie," contributor Marie Harf interrupted.

"No more of these political prosecutions designed to go after not just Donald Trump, but people who were challenging school boards, pro-life activists," Hemingway said.

"The reality is that Donald Trump was credibly accused of dozens of felony charges, was convicted of many of them," Harf said. "And Donald Trump has stood on the campaign trail this campaign cycle and said he wants to go after his political opponents and put them in jail."

Who Will Replace Mitch McConnell?

Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky—who infamously stole two Supreme Court seats and refused to convict Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection—isn't leaving Congress.

But McConnell won't be Senate majority leader when the new GOP majority is sworn in in January, announcing in February that he was stepping down from the role when the new Congress is sworn in.

Republicans are now jockeying to replace him, with Sens. John Thune of South Dakota, John Cornyn of Texas, and Rick Scott of Florida all running for the role.

And the race is already getting ugly, with Scott working hardest to cozy up to Trump and his vile allies—including racist 9/11 truther Laura Loomer—in an effort to try to come out on top.

During Trump’s last presidency, the president-elect had been the one to initiate the calls to ban TikTok, which only petered out because he didn’t win […]

The other election night winner: Perplexity

On Tuesday, two AI startups tried convincing the world their AI chatbots were good enough to be an accurate, real-time source of information during a high-stakes presidential election: xAI and Perplexity. Trump Now Gets His Tiny Hands On At Least Two SCOTUS Seats

"A republic, if you can keep it," Ben Franklin is alleged to have said.

Spoiler alert: We didn't keep it.

And now Trump will finish his makeover of the Supreme Court by replacing the two justices who want to retire (Alito and Thomas) with younger, meaner versions. Who will live forever-- or, at least, it will seem like it.

And they will rubberstamp Project 2025, every step of the way.

There's no silver lining here. This won't "heighten the contradictions."

Frank Luntz in The Hill:

During his first term in the White House, Trump appointed three justices: Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett. With their addition to the bench, Roe. v. Wade was overturned in 2022, ending the federal right to abortion and punting it back to the states.

The pollster argued that with a majority in the Senate, Trump will have an easier time implementing some of his policy proposals.

“If he has the Senate, it becomes easier for him to put forward his economic policies and some of it doesn’t even require a vote of Congress, but if you’re looking for that, that tariff policy is more likely than not to come into play,” Luntz said.

Loser Trump's Campaign Prepares Staffers For Possible Loss

It may be time for Trump to get to the DJ booth and play Ave Maria again. We've seen his low-energy rallies, which pale in comparison to 2016. Vice President Kamala Harris's rallies are packed with enthusiastic crowds. In contrast, Trump has been giving rally speeches to a lot of empty seats, though he denies that. However, our eyes don't lie.

Axios reports that Lumpy's campaign is readying staff members to wind down the operation while privately acknowledging that Trump could lose the election. Of course, we all know that Trump will try to claim victory before the votes are counted, but this time, Americans are sick of his bluster and gaslighting.

Via Axios:

Why it matters: It's unusual for Trump or his campaign to portray anything but rosy scenarios. But an email to staff on Friday offered a clear-eyed view of what could happen in this coin-flip election.

Zoom in: The internal "Donald J. Trump Administrative Update," from co-campaign manager Susie Wiles, outlines post-election plans. It uses the phrases "should we be victorious," "regardless of the outcome of the election" and "God willing" — acknowledging that the race may or may not turn out in Trump's favor.

Dana Bash Loses Patience With Tim Scott For Defending Trump's Election Lies

Sen. Tim Scott's pandering to Donald Trump while aiding and abetting his election lies was a bridge too far for CNN's Dana Bash. Scott made an appearance on State of the Union this Sunday, and was pressed by Bash over and over again on whether he would urge Trump "not to prematurely declare victory and allow the process to play out" while the votes are still being counted "so the American people can trust the final outcome” of the election.

Scott, of course, refused to answer, telling Bash instead “Dana, we are looking forward to a good day on Tuesday night without any question. I’m excited to see the battleground states we talked about are all leaning towards Trump. So the good news is we will have a fair election and Donald Trump will be our next president.”

After Scott rambled on about how well things are going for them so far in some of the swing states, Bash tried again to get Scott to respond to her question. “I appreciate your optimism, that's your job on the eve of the election but what I’m asking about is, what if he doesn’t win? And the fact of the matter that is that Trump is already spreading false claims about cheating in Pennsylvania. He has repeatedly predicted a massive victory even though polls show that race is very close. He’s setting the stage for his supporters not to believe the results if he loses. Do you want him to stop doing that?”

Scott again refused to answer, saying he would "never tell any candidate on the ballot to talk about what happens they lose."

Snowflake Hugh Hewitt Storms Off Set And Quits Washington Post

In a weird moment, conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt ripped off his headset and stormed off the set of the Washington Post First Look podcast because Jonathan Capehart didn't care for being lectured over journalistic integrity by the right wing blowhard.

Ruth Marcus is also a member of the podcast team as the discussion turned to Trump and voting in Pennsylvania where Trump has been littering the grounds with voter fraud allegations already.

Capehart said it appeared Trump was laying the groundwork for election fraud nonsense by claiming cheating was already happening in Pennsylvania.

Hugh Hewitt used a Republican victory to extend voting for another day in Bucks County and claimed that proved Trump had a right to complain.

That was not the case. The Trump campaign sued over long lines and unpreparedness, not cheating. After Hewitt's diatribe about opinion and journalism had stopped, Capehart told Hewitt he didn't like to be lectured.

That was it. It was as soft a push back as one could make.

Hewitt used a mild rebuke to create a scene as if he had been molested on air. He cried that what Capehart and Marcus were doing was a terrible injustice to Trump an unfair election ad.

CAPEHART: In Pennsylvania by suing Bucks County for alleged irregularities. And this is on top of his continual assertion that if he loses, it's because of cheating.

MARCUS: Yeah, that's what he's been laying the groundwork for this just not in the last week, but in the last umpty-ump months.
