Dumb And Dumber: Vos Recall Part Deux

As previously reported, the group of misfit Trump supporters and election deniers who had unsuccessfully attempted to recall Wisconsin Speaker Robin Vos threatened to make a second attempt even before the first one was officially declared dead. This week, they made good on their threat by filing signature pages for another go at it:

A group of election conspiracy theorists and supporters of Donald Trump seeking to recall Assembly Speaker Robin Vos on Tuesday submitted a new batch of petitions that they say contain enough signatures to trigger a recall election of the state Legislature's top Republican after their first attempt failed.

Now, the group says they have more than 9,000 signatures, exceeding the required number by about 2,100. Wisconsin Elections Commission staff will now review the signatures to determine whether enough are valid − a process that turned up forgeries and other invalid signatures during the group's first attempt.

CNN Finally Pays Attention To All Of Those Haley Primary Voters

Better late than never I guess. CNN did something that's been sorely lacking in the media these days, which is to talk to what's left of some of the sane voters in the Republican party who are disgusted with Trump and voted for Nikki Haley in the primary.

Here's how the segment started out from this Wednesday's Anderson Cooper 360, with John King traveling to Pennsylvania and interviewing a former Trump voter:

KING: Michael Pesce's first big political statement came 40 years ago.

PESCE: I became a Republican when I turned 18 because of Ronald Reagan. Both my parents were staunch Democrats and I, at the time they were like, we're Democrats we're not Republicans. And I was like no, no, no. I'm a Reagan Republican.

KING: The Philadelphia suburbs were reliably red back then. Pesce, a reluctant piece of why they are much more blue now.

So in 2016, you voted for...

PESCE: Trump.

KING: And in 2020?

PESCE: Biden.

KING: And you've got an election a few months. What are you gonna do?

PESCE: If I had my choice, I wouldn't vote for either, but I will vote for Biden. I will vote for anyone but Trump.

KING: Why?

PESCE: Well, so, he tried to overthrow our government, and that's a problem with me. I served in the US military. I just have very strong feelings about what it means to be an American.

Fox News’ Perino Reminds Pirro Trump Could Have Called Weisselberg To Testify

Fox News' Dana Perino actually injected a bit of sanity in between the ramblings about Trump's trial in New York from her fellow hosts on The Five this Wednesday.

Following Trump's daily rant outside of the courthouse, Pirro immediately jumped to his defense, repeating his nonsense that he was treated unfairly because we didn't hear from some witnesses that he wants to pretend were stopped from testifying.

Here's how Judge Box-O-Wine started things out following Trump's presser:

PIRRO: All right. There's Donald Trump calling this a witch hunt and a weaponization of the judicial system. He apparently, Dana, was very upset about the fact that certain witnesses were not called. He said they're viscous the people and what they've done to that person is outrageous. He is talking Weisselberg, Allen Weisselberg, the former CFO, who is under the prosecution's control, who had material evidence, who would have said that Trump never talked to him about the vouchers, the invoice, or the drafting of the check.

Which was followed by Perino rightfully pointing out that the defense could have called him.

PERINO: It's one of the big questions, right? Where is Weisselberg. If you are on the jury, you ask why didn't we hear from him, but correct me if I'm wrong, but the judge asked both the prosecution and defense, do you want to have Weisselberg, and they both said no. So, maybe, Trump's lawyers had a reason for saying that.

Fox And Friends' Verdict: Trump's Popularity Rises If Convicted

Fox and friends desperately looked for the bright side of Trump's future being determined by a jury.

They started by critiquing a Washington Post article that offers different scenarios if Trump is found guilty.

The four-headed monster spent a lot of time discussing the possibility of Trump being convicted of a crime they say "never happened."

As you might expect, there is never bad news on Fox and Friends for diminished Donald. Kilmeade and Co. gushed over Trump like apostles of his cult.

Only the MAGA cult views this as a deep-state plot against traitor Trump.

Kilmeade: He's in front of people. That's where he excels. That's where they get their mailing lists. That's where they find out who the voters are. That's where they find out who had to get other voters from the ones that show up.

Earhardt: But it could help him, Brian, because he's actually more popular, raised more money in April after all of this started, after the trial started, than Joe Biden did. And if America sees that they're trying to keep a presidential candidate, there are only two, and one of them has to, A, be in a courtroom for six weeks, and then right after that, has to be in home confinement.

Doocy: If he's convicted, I think his popularity goes up.

Earhardt: I do too.
