Roberts Court Upholds Birthright Citizenship In 6-3 Opinion

Nazi-adjacent WH Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, suffered a big loss in the Supreme Court today when his dream of having all brown babies born to immigrants denied American citizenship was stopped by the Supreme Court, but barely.

In a 6-3 opinion, the Supreme Court upheld the 14th Amendment, which codified birthright citizenship. It plainly says that anyone born IN the United States is an American citizen, regardless of the status of their mother.

Donald Trump and Stephen Miller wanted to change the Constitution, arguing that if the mother is in the country illegally or temporarily, the infant could not have American citizenship.

Chief Justice Roberts, writing the opinion, said:

“Citizenship, then and now, was the right to have rights—to freely participate in our political community. The Framers of the Fourteenth Amendment extended that promise to ‘every free-born person in this land. We keep that promise today.”

Three conservative justices would have allowed the restrictions to take effect...as expected, Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch.

The question I have is, when doesn't Trump fall asleep during one of his faux cabinet meeting press conferences?

The most un-religious president, at least in the last two centuries has used the extreme Christian right as his personal play things which helped him get re-elected, but they are willing supplicants, who created a straw-man of no substance and no morals to lead them.

It's hysterical and sad watching people like Paula White glorify demented Donald. It's particularly disgusting watch this happen in the Oval office.

It's quite obvious when Trump's not talking, he sleeping.

Does the sound of his own voice act like super caffeinated espresso to his consciousness?

US Reporter Mocks Bosnia Ahead Of World Cup Match

After being chastened 3-2 by Türkiye on Thursday night, the U.S. men's team learned their next round opponent would be Bosnia and Herzegovina. That posed a bit of a problem for ABC7's Abigail Velez.

Many Americans -- at least those outside of the USMNT camp -- are confident that Bosnia will pose no issue to their goal of advancing to the round of 16 and potentially further, especially that of ABC7 reporter Abigail Velez.

In a clip, which has since gone viral, Velez boasted that she didn't even know where Bosnia was on the map.

"In the next round, Team USA will play Bosnia next Wednesday. And, one thing about Bosnia [is that] I could not point out where it is on a map," Velez said on air.

"I don't know the first thing about Bosnia, and I don't want to know."

"That's because Team USA, we're back, we're better than ever. Get prepared, Bosnia, because you don't want it. You don't want it like that. But you're gonna get it."

While the reporter was unfamiliar with Bosnia, the NBA has thrived off a talent pipeline that has included that of Bojan Bogdanović, Jusuf Nurkić, and Dragan Bender.

The Bosnians were not amused.

UPDATE: She has now apologized, presumably to keep her job (that she's had for less than a year).

Talarico: Paxton Is Like A Creepy Crook Hanging Around A Texas Bar

You gotta love candidate James Talarico's messaging as he laid into Republican Ken Paxton. As the two Texans vie for a U.S. Senate seat, Democrat Talarico painted Paxton as the sleazy scammer he is, with a jab at Paxton's Texan-ness, for good measure.

First, Talarico referenced a Lyle Lovett song called "That's Right, You're Not From Texas."

"Come to think of it, he might have written it for Ken Paxton," Talarico added. It was a well-aimed swipe at an opponent who tries to smear the eighth-generation Texan Talarico as somehow not really Texan.

Lovett's lyrics describe a Texas dance hall as "the finest place to be." It's where "The women, they all look beautiful, and their men will buy your beer for free."

"Every Texas bar has those regulars," Talarico said. "The ones who pick up a round, the ones who check on the guy who's drinking alone, the ones who share a laugh or a story or their fried pickles."
