Fox News Media abruptly announced on Thursday that it had parted ways with Maria Bartiromo. The terse statement strongly suggested she had been fired. So did subsequent reporting.
In the wake of Fox’s announcement, two, separate reports said she was likely fired from Fox for tattling to the Trump White House that her higher-ups had barred her from promoting covering President Sore Loser’s 2020 conspiracy theories in his July, 2026 speech.
On Friday, CNN’s Brian Stelter tweeted that Bartiromo has retained a lawyer who insists not only that she was not fired but that she still has her job: Attorney Bryan Freedman blasted as “absolutely and unequivocally false"the “irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox”
“Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise,” Freedman added. “Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth."
