'Airbrushing History': Fox News Host Nails Trump For Smithsonian Impeachment Coverup

Fox News host Howard Kurtz argued that President Donald Trump was "airbrushing history" after he reportedly pressured a Smithsonian museum into removing references to his two impeachments.
"The Washington Post reports that the National Museum of American History, part of the Smithsonian, has removed references to President Trump's two impeachments," Kurtz noted on Sunday. "This was done under pressure from the White House, the paper says, leaving just Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Bill Clinton."
"The museum says the exhibit hasn't been updated since 2008, so everything has reverted back to that year," he added. "Kind of sounds like airbrushing history."
Editor's Note: The Smithsonian has indicated they will restore the references to Trump's two impeachments in the coming weeks.

'Buy American' Knife Maker Gets Harsh Reality Check On Trump's Tariffs

Josh Smith has seen the rapid growth of his knife business since he started it during the pandemic. Appearances on Fox News and Joe Rogan, among many others, had him well-positioned to sell a quality product with an ever-expanding market. Then Trump got into office and it all went pear-shaped.
Source: Associated Press
Josh Smith, founder and president of Montana Knife Co., called himself a Trump voter but said he sees the tariffs on foreign steel and other goods as threatening his business.
For instance, Smith just ordered a $515,000 machine from Germany that grinds his knife blades to a sharp edge. Trump had imposed a 10% tax on products from the EU that is set to rise to 15% under the trade framework he announced Sunday. So Trump’s tax on the machine comes to $77,250 — about enough for Smith to hire an entry-level worker.
Smith would happily buy the bevel-grinding machines from an American supplier. But there aren’t any. “There’s only two companies in the world that make them, and they’re both in Germany,” Smith said.
Then there’s imported steel, which Trump is taxing at 50%. Until this year, Montana Knife bought the powdered steel it needs from Crucible Industries in Syracuse, New York. But Crucible declared bankruptcy last December, and its assets were purchased by a Swedish firm, Erasteel, which moved production to Sweden.

Polls Have More Bad News For Republicans

More Americans now affiliate themselves with the Democratic Party than the Republican Party, marking the first time this has happened since January 2024, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday.
Gallup finds that in the second quarter of 2025, an average of 46% of Americans say they identified as a Democrat or a Democratic-leaning independent, compared with the 43% who say they are a Republican or Republican-leaning independent.
That's a change from the first quarter of the year, when an equal 45% of Americans identified with either party. And it's an even bigger shift from the fourth quarter of 2024—when last year’s presidential election took place—when 47% identified as Republicans.

Gallup said that the shift is not unexpected since the party in power usually sees voters turn away from it in the first few months of a new administration.

F*ck The Republican Monsters Who Are Killing Public Broadcasting

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced yesterday that it was starting an “orderly wind-down of its operations” weeks after Congress passed a measure that clawed back more than $1 billion in funds to the organization. Thank God for the fucking Republicans who are saving us all from the liberal horrors of Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Austin City Limits! Via UAToday:
The corporation disperses federal funds to NPR and PBS. President Donald Trump called for the outlets’ federal funding to be pulled in May, saying “neither entity presents a fair, accurate or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens.”
Corporation for Public Broadcasting employees were told on Aug. 1 that most staff positions would be slashed as the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30. Some staff would remain through January 2026 to “ensure a responsible and orderly closeout of operations,” according to the corporation’s news release.
“Public media has been one of the most trusted institutions in American life, providing educational opportunity, emergency alerts, civil discourse, and cultural connection to every corner of the country,” Corporation for Public Broadcasting President and CEO Patricia Harrison said. “We are deeply grateful to our partners across the system for their resilience, leadership, and unwavering dedication to serving the American people.”

Whiny Titty Baby Has All References To His Impeachments Removed From Smithsonian

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, the institution responsible for preserving American history, caved to the White House after being pressured by the Trump administration and removed references to his two impeachments. While rewriting history, the exhibit now states that "only three presidents have seriously faced removal," referring to Johnson, Nixon, and Clinton. As a result, the exhibit now resembles its appearance in 2008. We're sure Trump's peanut butter brain feels vindicated after his humiliating two impeachments -- but it still happened. Trump is the only president in US history to be impeached twice.
A source told The Washington Post that the change came about as part of a content review that the Smithsonian agreed to undertake following pressure from the White House to remove an art museum director.
The Washington Post reports:
After this story published, the Smithsonian said in a statement that "a future and updated exhibit will include all impeachments."
A temporary label including content about Trump's impeachments had been on display since September 2021 at the Washington museum, a Smithsonian spokesperson told The Washington Post, adding that it was intended to be a short-term addition to address current events. Now, the exhibit notes that "only three presidents have seriously faced removal."
